While reporting on CES 2016 for the TWICE Show Daily, I also churned out a number of stories for Realty Times, which they oddly held until a week or more after the show was over. Ah well. Here’s what I reported for this trade publication.

Here’s a report I wrote for Business.com on small office/home office (SOHO) and small business equipment I saw at CES.
Well, this post-CES post I wrote for eBay is pretty much self-exclamatory. And that’s a photo I took of the line snaking around the Oculus booth in the South Hall.

During CES once again, I did on-the-spot reporting for the Show Daily, run by TWICE. Many of the stories I wrote appeared ONLY in the printed edition of the Show Daily, unfortunately. But this story on Hisense’s new 2016 TVs made it online, and you can read it here. (Oh, I took the picture, too.)
Um, well – apparently that headline is wrong, as was the Amazon reference in a similar report I wrote for Techlicious (“Samsung’s New Refrigerator Is Also a Giant Tablet“).
Samsung told a group of reporters it had invited to a pre-CES pre-brief that its smart fridge would include Amazon’s Echo. But then at CES, Samsung told reporters it WOULDN’T include Amazon Echo compatibility. Samsung could have told us before my and other stories from other reporters were published, and every reporter who published this erroneous Amazon aspect was pretty pissed off.
TWICE assigned me the smart home beat for CES. Here’s one of my on-site reports on what new gear was on display in a wide variety of booths at the Sands’ Smart Home Marketplace during the show.

Light bulbs are a universal sign for a bright idea (pun intended), but are smart bulbs actually smart? I explored the smart bulb subject for re/code, which you can read here.
As our annual sojourn to the crowded and exhausting CES creeps closer like an appointment for a root canal, we might foretell here what we expect to see at the annual electronics gathering. But instead, we’d like to look ahead at a more distant future, one five years-plus hence in which commercial deployments utilizing the 5G standard are expected to start rolling out in major urban centers.
